quit MLM businessHas a team member decided to leave/quit your network marketing business?  Is it eating away at you and now you are wondering what you could have done differently?  If so, this short article will shed some light on the subject.  Just yesterday I had a team member decide to walk away, and it inspired me to write this post.  I hope it helps you deal with this situation.

This is network marketing.  In the words of the great Jim Rohn, “Some Don’t Stay”.  That’s all there is to it.  While it might sting a little, especially if it is someone you spent large amounts of your personal time trying to help, the main thing is to stay positive, wish them luck, and move forward, ALWAYS focusing on activity that will help you build.

Reasons People Will Quit Your MLM Business

There are a lot of reasons “why” someone will quit your MLM business, here are a few:

  • Aren’t Passionate About the Products – If someone is not passionate about the products you sell they will have a hard time building their business.  No matter how much you try to help this person, it will just be difficult for them to get amped up.  This is an understandable reason for someone to leave.  I feel it is very important when choosing the best MLM business opportunity to take this into serious consideration.
  • Bad Leadership – Jim Rohn also said, if you scare them off then that is your fault.  While we all hope this is not the case it is something we need to evaluate when someone does quite your MLM business.
  • Shiny Object Syndrome – If you have never heard this term before, what it means is some people are always looking for the next best thing.  These people have a hard time focusing on anything, and always feel the problem lies within the company, the products, the comp plan or anything else other than themself.  Instead of focusing hard on what needs to be done, they are on the lookout for easier ways and get pitched on anything and everything.
  • Bad Timing – Sometimes for whatever reason it just works out to be bad timing.  In reality, people do have things that come up that interfere with the business, and the timing is not right for them so they decide to pack it in.  When this happens just remember to wish them well, and leave the door open for them to return when the timing is right for them.

These are some of the main reasons people will leave your network marketing business.  There are other reasons, but these are the more common ones you will have to deal with.  The important thing to keep in mind when someone leaves your business is that what you do next is what counts.

What Next?

Okay, so someone quits your business…  Next!  That’s all there is to it.  This is a numbers game, and people WILL quit.  Let them go, move on, don’t wallow in defeat, focus on activity.

Real leaders and successful business owners don’t get caught up in the results.  When they have a major success they don’t celebrate it, and when they have a failure they don’t dwell on it.  Both things are just part of doing the business.

My Story

I was inspired to write this post because over the weekend I had someone quit my business.  I am not going to dwell on it, and whatever his reason was for leaving is fine with me.  Next. In this business, having an abundance mindset is key!

The ironic part of it was that myself and business leader held a 90 minute phone call on a holiday weekend at 7am with him and he made no mention of anything being wrong.  The next day he quits.  Gone.

The point is every story will be different, but each story and every experience you have is part of your bigger story.  When you walk across the stage some day, things like this will serve as merely a memory or something to giggle about because it happens to everyone, plain and simple.

 The Takeaway…

It is my hopes that you take away a valuable piece of information from this post.  When someone quits it doesn’t mean the sky is falling.  Just focus on the building of your business and move on.  If you do that you will be  fine!
